Our New Home

We have been wanting to move down to Rocklin for the past three years now. All the driving back and forth finally knawed on me enough. I told Michael this summer how I hated that drive and how much it took out of me on top of already the full time school and full time work/ministry. He reminded me how much I loved my job at Carolines and how he would give up anything just for me to be happy. It finally got down to my job. (Michael's job is also down by our school).  I told him that I would rather give up my happiness at work to live closer to school even if it mean I would have to take a job that I did not like as much.
So we looked and looked and looked, let me remind you how we have also been looking over the past three and a half years. Now yet again we went back to the drawing board we printed up three full pages, two columns typed of apartments and started our search yet again. During this I applied to another family owned coffee shop down in Roseville, called Blume, and never heard back from them. My heart sank, what kind of a job did I want besides making coffee, I love to make coffee and I love the interaction of talking to people, that goes with the job. I felt like not only was Blume passing me up as a worker but that they were also passig me up as a person. I know that is so overdramatic but Carolines is my first ever job, so I have not had to go through the rejection stage till now.
Finally I looked yet again on the Jessup Jobs Board and saw a job on there that I had not yet noticed  it was helping out an older couple do jobs around the house that is begining to be too hard for them. I thought to myself, I can do this I do it already at my own home and enjoy housework and cooking so much. I wrote to the Whitney's right away hoping I still had a chance for they had posted the job two weeks before and with such a good offer I was sure it was taken already but by that point I thought to myself, might as well?
Don wrote back to me right away saying they had had a couple people interested but that they were waiting for whom they believed God wanted them to have. Michael and I went down to meet them and it was wonderful I loved the Whitney's instantly and could picture myself working for them. Right after that Michael continued on our quest for an apartment. What would the point be if we both had jobs down in Rocklin and school yet no apartment! Finally the day was winding down with no luck and so I turned to Michael and said lets try one last thing. I told him to turn down on Sunset Blvd. and look at the apartments on that street, he reminded me how expensive those apartments were and I said "lets just look come on honey what will it hurt?" So as the wonderful husband he is, he turned onto Sunset Blvd. Then I yelled at him "turn in here, turn in here!!" He turned into Sunset Summit but remined me that we had looked at these apartments online and weren't quiet sure of them them. As he turned the car to leave, yet again I said, "Honey lets just go in and see if they have a spec apartment and see how we like it." A half hour later we had signed our lease and were moving in, in five days. We looked at each other in disbelief. How great of a God we have! He knows the plans He has for us!
Don wrote me back the next day saying how much they would love for me to be apart of their lives and wanted me to start work the next week!
Our lives were being turned upside down I couldn't believe it! The next day I went into Carolines and in great sorrow gave my two weeks after 3 years and 8 wonderful months of working there.
What a wonderful thing for us to finally be closer to school and Michael's job and now my new job! But what sorrow stricken hearts we had in realizing we were moving away from our home town, our families and our friends. What would this new chapter of our lives bring?
Michael reminded me I could not go into Carolines anymore and know everyone there, I would not be able to walk into the grocery store and at  least bump into someone I knew. Things were going to be different, everything would be new. We wouldnt even know where to get the cheapest gas or where they recycling was so that we could get money back for our cans and bottles.
We would be starting over on a new adventure.
But we had eachother.
We have God.
